Earn a California Highschool Diploma at an Accelerated Pace

The SchoolONE External Diploma program facilitates students earning a California high school diploma through nontraditional methods, including:

  • Transfer Credits: Recognizing academic credits earned at other high schools, colleges, and educational institutions. Including credits from schools throughout the world, using the AICE Methodology Requirements for Credential Evaluation.
  • Credit by Examination: Demonstrating mastery of subjects through standardized examinations or SchoolONE assessments.
  • Prior Learning Assessment: Earning credit for previously acquired knowledge and skills through portfolios and other assessments.
  • Professional Certifications: Recognizing industry-standard certifications, professional licenses, and other credentials as evidence of learning.
  • Workplace and Vocational Training: Evaluating learning acquired through employment, apprenticeships, military training, and other structured training programs.
  • Independent and Self-Directed Study: Completing academic requirements through homeschooling, independent study, online courses, and other personalized learning approaches.
  • Experiential and Project-Based Learning: Demonstrating competencies developed through real-world projects, volunteer work, entrepreneurship, and other practical experiences.
  • College-Level Coursework: Applying relevant college courses and dual-enrollment studies toward high school graduation requirements.
