We are empowering the most neglected and forgotten children to see beyond their circumstances and reach beyond their dreams to a thriving life that empower others.

I believe the children are our future, teach them well, and let them lead the way.—Whitney Houston

Our future depends upon the learning that happens today, not just for the children we know, but the children we don't know yet

But most education is not designed to solve the problems of today. This is the first difference between SchoolONE and other schools. We first and foremost focus our education on ensuring that what is learned is what is actually important for our student both survive in the conditions they live; AND thrive by co-creating a community that works for all.

Welcome to SchoolONE

We are a California Private School operated by EducateONE a California Public Benefit Corporation (Control ID B20250047732 with EIN 33-4868718) We are registered with California under CDS Code 31668946157374 and our Federal NCES ID is A2300227. More information about the legal status of our school can be found in our FAQ.

We don't treat students like widgets on a 19th century grade level assembly line

  • No grade levels... Because they are a grossly inadequate fiction
  • We don't fail kids... Because they aren't the failures, the education system is
  • We don't teach the 3 R's... As 'riting & 'rithmatic are spelled wrong
  • We don't teach to forget... Because it is a waste to learn useless facts
  • We aren't luddites... Because the technology is here, and we must use it wisely

Instead we support student learning through 21st century ideas

  • Containerized learning... We break learning down to self-contained modules that are relevant to where the student is and where they want to go
  • Mastery learning... So that learners can always find a path to success, and do not continue until they adequately do
  • Students develop competencies... All learning is about improving our knowledge and skills for the contexts we live in
  • Project-based... Because actions speak louder than words
  • We embrace AI... But we don't outsource our thinking to it

For Existing Participants

We know what happens when desperation festers

Our Demeaned to Dignity program is more than a learning stack. It is a full wrap-around program that supports kids and young adults in the most need with the services that will keep them alive along with the education that will allow them to thrive. Specifically we are targeting kids who are at extreme risk of becoming involved in crime, prostitution, or being a victim of human trafficking.

We are now starting to work with Koinonia Family Services to bring personalized training and mentorship to California foster children who are most at-risk. Where the wrap-around services are already being provided by Koinonia, and we provide our innovative education on a personalized scale.

We also are serving girls in the Rohingya refugee camps in Bangladesh. After fleeing genocide in Myanmar, they sought refuge in Bangladesh and India. But the camps they are in are basically internment camps, where they cannot leave, cannot legally work, and have no citizenship from any country, so they are stuck in a stateless limbo. This leaves very few options for them, but one that unfortunately too many girls feel they must take, is to "sell their bodies". Although, to be clear, this is basically putting themselves up to be raped daily because they feel they have no other options.

Our work is stopping these young girls from being demeaned, and instead supporting them to learn education that can provide them remote work from within the camps using the smartphones that are available. Further, they are learning a full high school curriculum so they can earn a high school diploma from Global SchoolONE, a California private school.
