Global SchoolONE

Is Global SchoolONE a homeschool co-op or an educational institution?

Answer: "Yes!"

We are in fact both! Our Family Enterprise learning stack is one in which parents teach their children and other parents' children, so it is a homeschool co-op. AND, these parents are qualified teachers, so that when they teach other parents' children, it is remote learning from an institutional school. This innovative structure has led to some problems with regulators understanding how to classify us, but we are working this out.

Further our programs like the DigiTools Diploma learning stack are clearly institutional education, although most of it classified as "correspondence" education.

Why is Global SchoolONE not found in the PSS Private School Locator?

Answer: Because regulators had difficulty in categorizing us, due to our innovative nature.

While Global SchoolONE has NCES ID A2300227, we currently are not publicly listed in the PSS Private School Locator because when we filled out the federal Private School Universe Survey (PSS), the nature of our school was not properly classified as being "in-scope". This is due to the fact that a question on the PSS asks "Is a major role of this school or program to support homeschooling?" [1] And due to our answer of "Yes" and some other answers, we got classified as only a homeschool co-op, when in fact we are both a homeschool co-op and institutional school.

But while we currently do not have an entry in the national private school locator, we can be found in California's private school locator and have a California CDS Code of 31668946157374 and is why we have the domain SchoolONE.k12.ca.us.

What is Global SchoolONE's accreditation status?

Whereas postsecondary higher education nearly always requires accreditation for legitimacy, private K12 schools often only have state recognition. We believe that accreditation is valuable and are pursuing it with the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC). While there is never a guarantee that an institution will achieve accreditation, we have expertise in accreditation, with our founder, Jacob Walker, having led several accrediting visiting committees to secondary and postsecondary schools as well as being asked by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, Accrediting Commission for Schools, (WASC ACS) to be on their advisory committee when they updated their postsecondary protocol, and he contributed a conference paper to that committee. Thus, we are confident, that we will achieve accreditation as quickly as is possible, given DEAC's time requirements.

Global UniversityONE

What is Global UniversityONE?

Currently Global UniversityONE is a part of EducateONE that provides education to EducateONE and Global SchoolONE volunteers. This education is generally at a postgraduate level leading to certifications. Currently our programs are internal-only for volunteers and do not lead to a degree. But, we are building these programs to qualify for future higher education accreditation, and hope to then grandfather graduates of such programs into the degree programs.

Is Global UniversityONE an "actual" university?

Global UniversityONE at this time is only the name that we give to the program we do internal training and education for our volunteers. But, it is our plan to have it become an accredited university at which time it would be an "actual" legitimate university.

Is Global UniversityONE authorized by the California BPPE?

As an internal training and education program of EducateONE that provides this education at no cost to its volunteers with no degrees provided at this time, Global UniversityONE is exempt from oversight by the California Bureau of Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE). In the future we plan to achieve postgraduate accreditation through DEAC, and we will then meet BPPE's requirements through Title IV accreditation. Also, since Global SchoolONE is a secondary institution (high school) it is also exempt.

What is EducateONE?

EducateONE is the umbrella organization for our various educational institutions such as Global SchoolONE and programs such as Global UniversityONE and EducateONE Training.

What is the Corporation Type and Tax Status of EducateONE?

EducateONE is a California Public Benefit Corporation. In California, this is the primary type of corporation used for nonprofit organizations. (Unlike other states, where the name "Public Benefit" is often the foundation for a B Corp. We are in the process for applying for IRS 501(c)(3) status to not only be recognized as a non-profit by the State of California, but also the Federal Government.

Is EducateONE a successor to any other organization?

While there is a long lineage of thinking and rethinking that has brought us to start EducateONE, it is a new organization, started in 2025 when there was the possibility of starting an online university with Malawi as we were in dialogue with their Minister of Higher Education at the time. Effective Education Solutions, a sole proprietorship of Jacob Walker, that originally developed many of the concepts that EducateONE is built upon, and has donated much of the funding for the infrastructure to start EducateONE is still an ongoing low-profit social entrepreneurial business owned by Jacob Walker.
